The Trip to Bountiful on Broadway

Last night we went to "The Trip to Bountiful" on Broadway.  Cicely Tyson, who won the Tony award for this performance,  is fantastic.  She is 80 years old this year and is on stage the entire 2 1/2 hour show.  Her performance got a huge and prolonged standing ovation.   The rest of the cast was not to shabby either -  Cuba Goodling Jr, Condola Rashad, and Vanessa Williams.  We were so excited we got to see it.  Also great were that the seats were in the third row.  We were far off to the side but no one was sitting in the aisle in front so we managed to get more towards the center of the stage.

After the show we went to a wonderful Cuban restaurant we saw listed in the PlayBill.  Its called Victor's and is on West 52nd.  The black beans were the best we had ever had.  Also the  Lobster Empanadas were to die for.  The Cuban beverages were not bad either.

It was raining and the doorman in front of a hotel gave us an umbrella.  We walked back to Rose and Nicanor's apartment arriving about the same time as the two of them.  They had been at a party.  We drank some of Nicanor's home brew and played liars poker until after 21m

What a great way to start out our three weeks in New York City
