Der Rosenkavalier at the Met

Nothing like a live opera at the Met. We got to the Lincoln Center at 4:30 expecting we were about an hour and a half early in line for rush tickets. But the opera started at 7:00 instead of 8:00 as it runs 4 1/2 hours. We still got $20 rush tickets (regular price on the tickets we got are $120). Orchestra tickets towards the back but excellent seats. We had three guys in front of us that were tall and loved to bobb their heads up and down and to the sides. The opera was beautifully staged and the music is beautiful. Its one of the finest with Richard Strauss and was quite funny in places.

Went to dinner first at PJ Clarke's, which we've eaten in before and enjoyed.  Its right across the street.  Had a wonderful mac and cheese and mini taco's plus a good hearts of lettuce in a great blue cheese dressing. Great service and a nice view.  A wonderful night.   Got back to Rose and Nic's at 1am.  Susan read till 3am in bed.
